2016UpFrontsCBS_ArticleBanner

CBS clearly went all out today during their UpFronts presentation, showing Confidence.  They had the cast of Hamilton on board with the help of James Corden to open with a parody followed opening remarks by Les Moonves and a skit by the cast of  The Big Bang Theory, delighting those in attendance.

While Hamilton was part of four out of five of the presentations thus far during UpFronts, CBS top exec Les Moonves teases “come on, ours is the best.”   And honestly it was the best.  The presentation started with Lin Manual Miranda on tape welcoming the crowd to Carnegie Hall, teasing that the CBS network upfront was “the second hardest ticket” in town.   The taped welcome was followed by Corden taking center stage in an impressive and highly choreographed spoof  that included “We just want your Hamiltons.”

Clips from the new shows can be seen below, courtesy of CBS Television Networks.

See Also CBS 2016-2017 Fall Season Schedule.

Les Moonves opened with remarks about how lucky CBS is having brought on James Corden to CBS.   “We love that guy.”  Moonves gave a shot at several other networks; talking of CBS News as “the place to go when you’re interested in keeping up with the news, rather than just keeping up with the Kardashians.”   He continued boasting that digital network news CBSN was asttracting consumers 30 years younger than many cable networks, although no actual numbers were shared about CBSN users.   Mooves continued praising CBS This Morning, having its most-watched season in 28 years and brought out its co-anchors Charlies Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell anlong with Scott Pelley and John Dickerson.

Moonves talked about Broadcast TV saying “nothing compares to Broadcast TV.”   He continued talking about how CBS a long time ago was last place and what it felt like.   He still remembers.

Moonves talked about the FOX paraody where they depicted him as a Lex-Luther villain and said that it hurt his feelings.

Moonves did confirm that there is a The Good Wife spin-off starring Christine Baranaski and Cush Jumbo in the works for CBS All Access.  He also teased footage of the new Star Trek series that is to air on CBS All Access with the logo and some exploding asteroids.    “You didn’t think we’d show you the cast, did you?  Too early for that!”  New characters will be introduced in the new series which will start out a year after the finale of The Good Wife.   The new spin-off series will premiere in Spring 2017.   It will be the second All CBS Access series, the first being a new Star Trek series which will launch in January 2017.

Clips followed for each show with cast members taking stage and sharing a few words about their shows, all stars receiving enthusiastic applause.

A long clip for Kevin James’ new show Kevin Can Wait was shown next, followed by Mat LeBlanc’s Man With A Plan.   Man with a Plan had a feel similar to Joey, his previous series.   Kevin Can Wait didn’t really grab me.  I personally didn’t find it that funny and based on the audience reaction, it had mild laughter overall.   Man with a Plan received a few more laughs than Kevin Can Wait.  I also felt Man with a Plan was a bit funnier, yet not what I would call a blockbuster.

The cast of The Big Bang Theory then took stage and performed a paraody where they offered suggestions for CBS’ new Star Trek, including Mayim Bialik suggesting CBS call it NCIS: Star Ship.   Melissa Rauch teased that they need to put Star Trek on CBS network so that her grandmother could find the show.   Johnny Galecki thanked everyone for their viewship and support of the show.   A clip of the big moments during Season 9 was shown including the Leonard/Penny wedding, the “first time” sex of Sheldon and Amy and the baby announcement with Bernadette and Howard.

Following The Big Bang Theory suggestions, a clip of Pure Genius was shown starring the charming Agustus Prews.   Taking place in a medical environment, it has shares the genius feel of Scorpion, with the incorporation of a lot of high tech.  Overall a very promising show.

McGuyver has gone through several iterations.  It started out with one writer.  When it was ordered to pilot it took on another and by the time it was scheduled to the CBS lineup a third writer came on board.   All the cast except for two members, have been turned over from pilot to airing as well.  From the trailer, McGuyver is another high action film, although more intrigue attached to it as well.   It kept some of the elements of the original series, taking simple things and making them into solutions to problems.   The lead actor seemed charming enough.   It will be interesting to see how audiences take to the series.

CBS is putting a lot of faith in Bull, starring Michael Weatherly, having it follow on the Tuesday night lineup the flagship and his previous show NCIS.   Bull is well cast with Michael Weatherby and appears like it is going to be a sure hit for CBS.  Weatherly brings his wit and sharp comebacks to the role, along with his charm.

Training Day was received with mixed response.   It is a gritty show, full of action and cross gun-fire/explosions.  Questionable whether it will make it as a hit or not.  A quote from the trailer:  “It’s a lot more effective when it isn’t pretty,” from Bill Paxton’s character.   Training Day is a rogue cop who has his own sense of justice who becomes the “trainer” for new cops.  Most trainees don’t make it through a full day of training.   His new trainee has more gumption, but also has a lot of hesitance about the approach Paxton’s character takes to fighting the grit and grime of crime.  Training Day felt more like  movie, to be honest, than a series.

The Great Indoors received pretty good laughs.  The show definitely shows promise.  I found it the funniest out of all the comedies presented today. Joel McHale took a few digs at NBC, like his CBS bosses, but overall he killed it on stage.   He didn’t stop at NBC though, he also threw a dig at The Big Bang Theory for not helping out Community.

Glenn Geller then took the stage.  He brainstormed possible crossovers between Pure Genius and The Big Bang Theory.   I know this fan would love to see that, as it could be very interesting to see these characters in totally different environments, but alas he was likely just teasing.

Geller talked about Late Show with Stephen Colbert, calling Colbert “one of the most innovative comedians,” welcoming Colbert to the satage.   Colbert tickled the audience with some jokes many of htem at Donald Trump’s expense.  “2016 was a big year from comedy, and if Trump wins, 2017 will be an even bigger year for tragedy,” he said, reminding the audience that Late Show is the one where politicians can come through and give intelligent interviews.   Colbert ended his time on stage with “It’s a regular who’s who of who you wish were running for president.”

The Upfronts presentation by CBS started with Confidence and ends with Unstoppable!

CBS Announced it’s fall 2016-2017 season line-up today at their Upfronts breakfast, unveiling three new comedies and five new dramas, plus 21 returning series.    The Network’s new series will feature stars in comedy and drama such as Kevin James, Matt LeBlanc, Joel McHale, Michael Weatherly, Katherine Heigl, Dermot Mulroney, Laverne Cox, Dulé Hill and Bill Paxton.

“One of our goals this development season was to expand our lineup of top-rated comedies, and these new shows and big stars give us the opportunity to do so in a big way,” said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. “With the Network’s returning roster of hits and time-period winners, we’re able to strategically schedule all of our exciting new comedies and dramas with the best possible launch pads to succeed.”

The Big Bang Theory will begin the season during the NFL CBS coverage, on Monday nights at 8 PM ET followed by Kevin Can Wait, Two Broke Girls, The Odd Couple and Scorpion, which moves to 10 PM time slot.   NCIS Los Angeles will move to Sunday nights.

Beginning October 27,  The Big Bang Theory will return to its normal 8 PM Thursday night time slot.   Kevin Can Wait will then move to the Monday night 8 PM slot followed by new series Man With A Plan.  Once The Big Bang Theory moves to its normal Thursday night slot, it will be followed by new sereis The Great Indoors, Mom, Life in Pieces and new freshman series Pure Genius.

See Fall 2016-2017 Renewals and Cancellations

Tuesday night will continue with flagship NCIS in the 8 PM slot followed by the new Michael Weatherly series Bull at 9 PM.   NCIS New Orleans will move to the 10 PM slot.   Wednesdays remain the same lineup with Survivor, Criminal Minds and Code Black keeping their time slots from Fall 2015.

Friday will start off with the reboot of MacGyver followed by Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods.   Sunday will launch NCIS: Los Angeles moving Madam Secretary into the time slot that The Good Wife once aired.  Elementary will follow Madam Secretary.

Midseason will introduce the new drama starring Katherine Heigl called Doubt, new freshman series Training Day, returning series Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Undercover Boss and Amazing Race.

For Limitless fans, this leaves the question about what the network is doing with this series.  It has yet to be canceled or renewed, but appears to be being shopped around by CBS to other networks.  “Right now we are  in discussions with other buyers,” CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said at CBS’ upfront breakfast when asked about Limitless‘ fate. Asked whether that means the show would go to another network, he said, “Potentially yes.”

Also of interest at the CBS Upfronts Breakfast is that Glenn Geller announced that CSI franchise could return in the future with a new incarnation.   CBS is very proud of their CSI shows and the producers have been open to revisiting the franchise after taking a break.

James Corden revealed to Radio Times today that there will be a spin-off of his Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke.   Corden is apparently only expected to produce and make occasional appearances, in the same way Jimmy Fallon has done with Lip Sync Battle.

New Show Descriptions

THE NEW FALL COMEDIES:

KEVIN CAN WAIT stars Kevin James as a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending carefree, quality time with his wife and three kids, only to discover he faces tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. Kevin’s retirement plans consist of chilling with his family and having epic adventures with fellow retirees Goody (Leonard Earl Howze), his former partner and close friend, and Duffy (Lenny Venito), his oldest pal, as well as his brother, Kyle (Gary Valentine), a fireman whose closest encounter with a blaze would be a grease fire in the firehouse kitchen. However, Kevin’s dream is jeopardized when he discovers that Donna (Erinn Hayes), his wonderful wife of 20 years, has shielded him from key family info while he worked overtime protecting the community. Their usually reliable eldest, Kendra (Taylor Spreitler), is dropping out of college so she can support her unemployed fiancé, Chale (Ryan Cartwright), while he designs the next “big app”; his teenage daughter, Sara (Mary-Charles Jones), is having issues at school; and their youngest, Jack (James DiGiacomo), is a bit of a hypochondriac. For now, his plans for a cushy life will have to wait, because Kevin has work to do, and this time, his family is his beat. Bruce Helford, Rock Reuben, Kevin James, Jeff Sussman and Andy Fickman are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television. Fickman directed the pilot.

MAN WITH A PLAN stars Golden Globe Award winner Matt LeBlanc in a comedy about a contractor who starts spending more time with his kids when his wife goes back to work and discovers the truth every parent eventually realizes: their little angels are maniacs. Adam (LeBlanc) feels fully equipped to take on more parenting responsibilities while his self-assured wife, Andi, returns to the work force after being a stay at home mom for 13 years. However, Adam’s blindsided by how tough it is to wrangle three messy kids who can’t live without Wi-Fi. Their pre-teen daughter, Kate (Grace Kaufman), is a master manipulator and initially thrilled that “daddy fun times” is taking over, middle child Teddy (Matthew McCann) can’t seem to keep his hands out of his pants despite constant reminders, and their precious youngest, Emme (Hala Finley), is nervous about starting kindergarten. But with Andi’s encouragement and advice from a couple of equally stressed parents, Marie (Jessica Chaffin) and Lowell (Matt Cook), Adam takes charge of his brood, lays down the law and discovers he’s going to “nail” this job. Jeff & Jackie Filgo, Matt LeBlanc, Michael Rotenberg and Troy Zien are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. Multiple Emmy Award winner James Burrows directed the pilot.

THE GREAT INDOORS stars Joel McHale in a comedy about a renowned adventure reporter for an outdoor magazine who must adapt to the times when he becomes the desk-bound boss to a group of millennials in the digital department of the publication. Jack has led a thrilling “outdoorsy” life exploring the edges of the earth while chronicling his adventures for Outdoor Limits. But his globe-trotting days end when the magazine’s charismatic founder and outdoor legend, Roland (Stephen Fry), announces the publication’s move to web-only and assigns Jack to supervise their online team of “journalists.” Jack’s eager 20-something colleagues include Clark (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), a tech nerd who knows everything about surviving on Mars and a zombie apocalypse; Emma (Christine Ko), their social media expert who views Jack as the human version of dial-up; and Mason (Shaun Brown), a hipster-lumberjack who hasn’t spent any actual time outside. Jack reports to Roland’s daughter, Brooke (Susannah Fielding), an ex-flame who caters to the sensitive staffers by giving them all trophies just for working hard. Jack’s best friend, Eddie (Chris Williams), runs the local dive bar that’s popular with the younger set and helps Jack “decode” his co-workers. Jack is baffled by the world of click-bait and listicles, but if he’s patient, he may be able to show these kids that the outside world is much more than something on a screen… if he doesn’t beat them with their selfie-sticks first. Mike Gibbons, Chris Harris and multiple Emmy Award winner Andy Ackerman are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. Ackerman directed the pilot.

THE NEW FALL DRAMAS:

BULL stars Michael Weatherly as Dr. Jason Bull in a drama inspired by the early career of Dr. Phil McGraw, the founder of one of the most prolific trial consulting firms of all time. Brilliant, brash and charming, Dr. Bull is the ultimate puppet master as he combines psychology, human intuition and high tech data to learn what makes jurors, attorneys, witnesses and the accused tick. Bull employs an enviable team of experts at Trial Analysis Corporation to shape successful narratives down to the very last detail. They include his quick-witted brother-in-law, Benny Colón (Freddy Rodriguez), who plays a defense attorney in mock trials; Marissa Morgan (Geneva Carr), a cutting-edge neurolinguistics expert from the Department of Homeland Security; former NYPD detective Danny James (Jaime Lee Kirchner), the firm’s tough but relatable investigator; haughty millennial hacker Cable McCrory (Annabelle Attanasio), who is responsible for gathering cyber intelligence; and Chunk Palmer (Chris Jackson), a fashion-conscious stylist and former All-American lineman who fine tunes clients’ appearances for trial. In high-stakes trials, Bull’s combination of remarkable insight into human nature, three Ph.D.’s and a top-notch staff creates winning strategies that tip the scales of justice in his clients’ favor. Paul Attanasio, Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Jay McGraw, Mark Goffman and Rodrigo Garcia are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. Garcia directed the pilot.

MACGYVER, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver (Lucas Till) who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Lincoln (George Eads). Under the aegis of the Department of External Affairs, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip. Peter Lenkov, Golden Globe Award winner Henry Winkler, Lee Zlotoff, James Wan and Michael Clear are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Lionsgate.

PURE GENIUS is a cutting-edge medical drama about a young Silicon Valley tech titan who enlists an exceptional veteran surgeon with a controversial past to run a state-of-the-art hospital with an ultramodern approach to medicine. Billionaire genius James Bell (Augustus Prew) built Bunker Hill Hospital determined to revolutionize healthcare and treat the rarest and most challenging medical mysteries, at no charge. Bell persuades maverick surgeon Dr. Walter Wallace (Dermot Mulroney) to be his Chief of Staff, who believed medicine is a human endeavor, not technological, until a “eureka” moment at the hospital convinced him otherwise. Bell’s team of trailblazers includes Dr. Zoe Brockett (Odette Annable), an exceptional, fearlessly frank physician; Dr. Talaikha Channarayapatra (Reshma Shetty), an idealistic, maddeningly literal neurosurgeon who believes the hospital is a beacon for change; Dr. Malik Verlaine (Aaron Jennings), a former gangbanger now spearheading efforts to provide 24/7 health monitoring in poor neighborhoods via computer; Dr. Scott Strauss (Ward Horton), an intense neurologist with an Ivy league pedigree; and Angie Cheng (Brenda Song), an enthusiastic 3-D printer programming whiz. At Bunker Hill, Bell pairs the most brilliant minds in medicine with the most forward thinkers in technology, and cuts bureaucracy out of the equation, all in the interest of saving lives, including his own. Jason Katims, Michelle Lee and David Semel are executive producers for Universal Television in association with CBS Television Studios. Semel directed the pilot.

NEW SERIES FOR LATER THIS SEASON:

TRAINING DAY is a crime thriller that begins 15 years after the events of the feature film, about a young, idealistic police officer who is tapped to go undercover in an elite squad of the LAPD where he partners with a veteran, morally ambiguous detective. Detective Frank Rourke (Bill Paxton) is the maverick head of the Special Investigation Section (S.I.S.) that hunts the city’s most dangerous criminals, and is one of the finest investigators the department has ever produced. However, when the LAPD brass notices Rourke’s penchant for operating in a gray area to fight the war on crime, they assign Kyle Craig (Justin Cornwell), a heroic, untarnished cop, to pose as Frank’s trainee to spy on him and report on his off-book methods. The members of Frank’s loyal team include Rebecca Lee (Katrina Law), a formidable officer with killer aim and a dark past, and Tommy Campbell (Drew Van Acker), a former pro surfer who follows Frank’s orders without hesitation. Providing Frank with intel is his girlfriend, Holly Butler (Julie Benz), a well-connected, unapologetic Hollywood madam. While LAPD Deputy Chief Joy Lockhart (Marianne Jean-Baptiste) coolly puts Kyle in danger in her mission to take down Frank, Kyle’s schoolteacher wife, Alyse (Lex Scott Davis), worries her husband’s resolve to avenge the murder of his father, a cop, may be his undoing. As Frank starts teaching his principled trainee the way of the streets, where the ends often justify the means, they form an uneasy alliance that will irrevocably change the course of both their lives. Based on the feature film from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures. Jerry Bruckheimer, Antoine Fuqua, Will Beall, Barry Schindel, Jonathan Littman and Danny Cannon are executive producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Fuqua Films in association with Warner Bros. Television. Cannon directed the pilot.

DOUBT stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis, a brilliant attorney at a boutique firm who starts to fall for her charismatic client, Billy Brennan (Steven Pasquale), an altruistic pediatric surgeon recently accused of murdering his girlfriend 24 years ago. Sadie is hiding her growing feelings from everyone, including her close friend and colleague, Albert Cobb (Dulé Hill), who thinks he knows everything about her. Working on other cases at the practice is Cameron Wirth (Laverne Cox), a transgender Ivy League graduate who fights passionately for her clients since she’s experienced injustice first hand; Tiffany Simon (Dreama Walker), a second-year associate who is quickly learning the ropes from Wirth; and Nick (Kobi Libii), a former felon who earned his degree while serving time. They all consider it a privilege to work for Isaiah Roth (Elliott Gould), a revered legal lion and “lefty” legend, whose approval is their holy grail. Sadie’s decision to become involved with her client could put her career, as well as her happiness, at risk if Billy is found guilty, which means she needs to work all the harder to prove reasonable doubt, even if she has some herself. Tony Phelan & Joan Rater, Emmy Award winner Adam Bernstein, Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman are executive producers for CBS Television Studios. Bernstein directed the pilot.

“NEW I LOVE LUCY SUPERSTAR SPECIAL,” A ONE-HOUR SPECIAL FEATURING TWO CLASSIC EPISODES, TO BE BROADCAST SUNDAY, MAY 22 ON CBS

ILoveLucySpecial22May2016

Newly-Colorized Episodes of “Lucy Visits Grauman’s” and “Lucy and John Wayne”

To Be Seamlessly Combined for First Time

NEW I LOVE LUCY SUPERSTAR SPECIAL, a new one-hour special featuring two colorized back-to-back classic episodes of the 1950s series, to be broadcast Sunday, May 22 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The two episodes, “Lucy Visits Grauman’s” and “Lucy and John Wayne,” are newly-colorized with a vintage look, reminiscent of the 1950s period in which they were filmed. This is similar to episodes presented in “I Love Lucy” specials on the Network last spring and the past few holiday seasons. Previously only shown separately, the two episodes tell a continuous story in one comedy hour for the first time. As with the previous “I Love Lucy” specials, the main titles and end credits are seamlessly combined into one set at the beginning and end of the hour. Academy Award-winning movie legend John Wayne is the special guest star.

I Love Lucy” stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, and Vivian Vance and William Frawley, as the Ricardos’ best friends, Fred and Ethel Mertz.

“Lucy Visits Grauman’s” finds Lucy and the Mertzes visiting Hollywood’s famed Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, where Lucy discovers that the cement slab containing John Wayne’s footprints has come loose. Lucy thinks it would be a fabulous souvenir to take home, if only she can come up with a way to take it without being caught.

In “Lucy and John Wayne,” Lucy must find a way to replace the pilfered footprints. Ricky tries to help by calling John Wayne, but as usual with Lucy, the seemingly simple task of replicating the footprints becomes a comedy of errors.

“Lucy Visits Grauman’s” and “Lucy and John Wayne” originally aired October 3and October 10, 1955, respectively, and became instant classics. “Lucy and John Wayne” was included in CBS’s 1958 summer series, “The Top Ten Lucy Shows,” as selected by a panel of 155 newspaper TV critics and columnists.

I Love Lucy” aired on CBS from October 15, 1951 until June 24, 1957. It was voted “the best TV show of all time” in a 2012 viewer poll conducted by People magazine and ABC News.

Chris Licht, who has led CBS News’ award-winning morning broadcast to its best ratings in nearly three decades, has been named Executive Producer/Showrunner of THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT.

In his new role, Licht will oversee all aspects of production for THE LATE SHOW, CBS’s new 11:35 PM late night series. He will lead a broadcast, that in only eight months, has established a unique imprint on network late night television with a mix of news-making interviews and smart, topical comedy.

“I’m thrilled Chris is joining us at ‘The Late Show.’ I am so impressed by what he has done at ‘CBS This Morning,’” said Stephen Colbert. “And I trust someone has told him he doesn’t have to get up at 4am anymore.”

“In a very short time, Stephen’s comedic talents and interview skills have formed an exciting new franchise for CBS in late night,” said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. “Chris’s vision and track record of leading signature shows in important dayparts is a great next step to build on this terrific foundation.”

“Everyone in the company has admired what Chris has done for CBS in the morning,” said David Stapf, President, CBS Television Studios. “The opportunity to bring him to ‘The Late Show is like adding an outstanding head coach to a great team.”

“You can’t work in this business without being in awe of Stephen Colbert and his talents,” said Licht. “The chance to work with Stephen and help build a valuable late night franchise, while continuing to grow at CBS, is truly an honor. I can’t wait to get started.”

“At the same time, it’s a bittersweet moment,” continued Licht. “Our CBS News team has built something very unique in the morning that continues to grow in stature and ratings.  I will miss working with them all, but I leave with incredible pride for what we accomplished together, and I can’t wait to see where Ryan takes the show as it moves onward and upward to the next level of success.”

At the same time, it was announced that Ryan Kadro will succeed Licht as executive producer of CBS THIS MORNING. http://bit.ly/1SzvGEd

Licht will transition to late night after serving as executive producer of CBS’s morning show and Vice President, Programming for CBS News since 2011. In addition to being the showrunner for THE LATE SHOW, CBS also announced Licht’s new role as Executive Vice President of Special Programming, CBS Corporation, consulting on various forms of content for divisions across the Company.

For the past 10 years, Licht has helped redefine morning television, first at MSNBC and most recently at CBS. Under his direction, CBS THIS MORNING has delivered the Network’s largest audience in the time period in nearly three decades. The critically praised broadcast has also grown its audience for 42 consecutive months and is the only network morning news show up this season in viewers and key demographics.

The broadcast, which launched in 2012, has earned a prestigious Peabody Award, two News & Documentary Emmys and one Daytime Emmy.

Previously at MSNBC, Licht was the co-creator and the original executive producer of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” Before “Morning Joe,” Licht was a senior producer and then executive producer of Joe Scarborough’s “Scarborough Country,” also on MSNBC.  He began his career at KNBC in Los Angeles, working at various levels of the electronic news business, including producing the station’s 11:00 PM news.

THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT, a production of The Late Show Inc., airs weeknights (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Stephen Colbert, Chris Licht, Tom Purcell, Meredith Bennett and Jon Stewart are executive producers.

This season, THE LATE SHOW with STEPHEN COLBERT is the only 11:35 PM late night show to post year-to-year growth in viewers and key demos, up +40% in adults 18-49 (0.7/03 from 0.5/03), +33% in adults 18-34 (0.4/03 from 0.3/02), +29% in adults 25-54 (0.9/04 from 0.7/03) and +7% in viewers (2.94m from 2.75m).
